George Frideric Handel – Messiah: Hallelujah Chorus
George Frideric Handel (1685–1759) composed Messiah in 1741, and it quickly became one of the most celebrated works in Western music. The Hallelujah Chorus, concluding Part II of the oratorio, is renowned for its powerful proclamation of Christ’s kingship and its jubilant musical energy.
In this arrangement for three trumpets, timpani, and organ, the triumphant character of the music is brought vividly to the foreground. The brilliant trumpet fanfares and resounding timpani emphasize the work’s ceremonial grandeur, while the organ provides a firm harmonic foundation. This version captures the majestic spirit of Handel’s original while offering a striking and festive alternative suited to concert or ceremonial performance.
